Over Forty Runner

I started running when I turned 45. Since then I've completed 13 marathons in 13 states and a 10k. This is my journey as a runner over 40.

Rich: Rich Bailey was born in Tampa, Florida. He attended the colleges at the University of South Florida, University of Wisconsin LaCrosse, Western Wisconsin Technical College, Hillsborough Community College and Southwest Wisconsin Technical College. Rich is currently employed as an Information Systems Network Specialist.

He married in 1987 to his lovely wife Lori. They have 2 children together. At the age of 44 Rich decided that he was overweight and out of shape and determined to change it. Purchasing a home gym he began a workout regime and transformed his body. Beginning at 230 lbs. and 30% body fat by the following year he was down to 168 lbs. and 6% body fat. He read quite a bit about nutrition and bodybuilding and decided to become a natural bodybuilder. During pursuing this goal he also developed a desire to run and began his quest to run a marathon. Since then he has passionately pursued these goals.

In November 2011 Rich completed his first marathon in Pensacola, Florida and since has completed a dozen more marathons.
